Montreal Canada, 1976

Montreal was chosen to host the 1976 Olympic Games on May 12, 1970 at the 69th session of the International Olympic Committee in Amsterdam.

The other candidate cities were Moscow and Los Angeles, which hosted the following two Games in 1980 and 1984 respectively. The 1976 Games were the first to be held in Canada.
